PUFF after-hours lounge and hookah

As we entered PUFF, we were met by Jonah the head doorman, who is a man of substantial size and class. He greeted us with and professionalism and briefed us on the venue’s events. Immediately upon entering, expect your eyes to wander throughout this appetizing after-hours lounge. PUFF possesses an entertainment rich environment complimented by the faintly sweet aroma of relaxing hookah. This venue primarily mixes house, but reggae Wednesdays and karaoke Thursdays can be found here as well. Our attention quickly turned to the gorgeous dancers on stage display, moving to the DJ inspired mood. The drinks at PUFF are very reasonably priced and cocktails extremely well made. We found the wait staff attentive, talented, and eager to please their guests. After grabbing a couple drinks, we decided to try one of PUFF’s specialty hookahs, and we were NOT disappointed. You can either enjoy your hookahs and drinks bar side or in one of

their luxuriously comfortable couches, cushions, or tables. Very good to locals,we anticipate this establishment doing well. And for our out of town vacationers, with PUFF’s location just east of the strip off Flamingo at Cambridge, this might be just what you’re looking for, after your night at the club. PUFF has truly encompassed everything you could expect from an after-hours lounge; with its DJ inspired dance floor, VIP tables and service, and unique specialty hookahs, We at SceneLasVegas not only recommend you visit, but we will definitely add this spot to memory and enjoy some of our after-hours here as well. With plans in the works to make PUFF open 24 hours we would classify PUFF as one of our top picks for a “Strip Alternative.”

Club Review: JET at the Mirage

May 22, 2008

JET at the Mirage

jet, mirage, nightclub, night club, las vegasJET at The Mirage Hotel and Casino has successfully combined three unique room venues in the form of one spectacular nightclub. As we entered JET, we were immediately impressed by the clever, free flowing layout. Once through the ropes and down a gorgeous corridor, clubbers are delivered directly into the main room, which we at SceneLasVegas can personally appreciate. You shouldn’t have to spend the majority of your night trying to figure out where the different rooms are and how to get to them. Laced with multi-tiered VIP seating, dancing poles and platforms, the main room at JET boasts many aspects essential to an enticing nightlife scene. JET has an exceptional sound system, talented DJs playing pop hip-hop and dance, and even a few Go Go dancers showcased amongst the crowd. Two full service bars line each side of the dance floor for easily attainable beverage service. jet, mirage, nightclub, nightclubs, las vegasIf you continue straight ahead and to the right of the substantial dance floor you’ll come upon another room where a more Urban atmosphere is exhibited. Playing some pop hip-hop, as well as some older “throwback” beats. This room also provides a full service bar and VIP seating where bottle service can be enjoyed. After once again passing through Jet’s main room, we came upon the third venue where a house and dance mix are displayed. After experiencing all JET has to offer, we headed toward the exit, feeling full-filed by a well designed and exciting atmosphere, which is maintained and operated by a polite and professional staff. If your plans in Vegas are to incorporate JET nightclub at the Mirage Hotel and Casino, we at SceneLasVegas are confident you won’t be disappointed.

Lounge Review: EYECANDY LOUNGE at MANDALAY HOTEL AND CASINO

May 15, 2008

EYECANDY LOUNGE at MANDALAY

Immediately drawn in by the clever lighting and modern furniture, we entered Eyecandy, an extremely high-tech lounge inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. This dress-code free lounge is equipped with two full service bars, plenty of comfortable seating, and a spacious dance floor inspired by the house DJ. If you’re not in the dancing mood, Eyecandy boasts two enormous projection screens where the latest fights and sporting events can be viewed. Self entertainment is easily full-filled by one of their four unique “pods,” which integrate touch sensitive technology built into these computer based units. The units are something similar to “windows” on your personal computer with many functions, from creating simple artwork, to utilizing one of Eyecandy’s eight

in house cameras to view what’s going on inside the club. Dance on them, draw on them, or use them to send a message to one of the other three “pods” if you feel so inclined. We at Scene Las Vegas would classify Eyecandy as an informal upscale lounge offering plenty interactive and self entertainment. It provides an enjoyable “low key” environment that compliments this venue’s dancing and nightlife scene. Eyecandy is a smoke free environment, so you’ll have to briefly exit the lounge to have that cigarette. With reasonable drink prices, a generous dance floor, and technologically advanced toys, Eyecandy is enjoyable whether you’re starting the night out or winding it down.

Club Review: PURE at CAESARS PALACE

PURE at CAESARS PALACE

pure nightclub, pure night club, las vegas

Industry Tuesday at PURE inside Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino is arguably the best industry night the Las Vegas Scene has to offer. As we entered Pure we were greeted by extremely aware and professional security and door personnel. Once inside you’re welcomed by cascading white linens, extravagant glass features, and inspiring white marble. Pure nightclub is an amazing display of elegance. From the many gorgeous full service bars, to the lavish VIP tables and rooms, Pure’s venue is a paragon for others to emulate. It truly captures all aspects of exciting nightlife. The lower level sustains a DJ inspired dance floor playing hip/hop and a popular progressive mix. The floor is surrounded by multi tiered VIP areas where bottle service can be enjoyed. pure nightclub, pure night club, las vegasIf you’re looking for something slightly more private, Pure can provide a luxuriously comfortable, secluded room to entertain your party - equiped with its own full service bar. We found the exterior atop the awe inspired stairwell to be exciting yet relaxing. The roof-top sustains its own DJ, full service bar, VIP cabanas and couches. We found the view breathtaking and the atmosphere definitely one to remember. After grabbing a drink from one of the beautiful and talented cocktail staff, we ventured downstairs for a few more photos of the enjoyable crowd. Very satisfied with Pure’s venue, we reluctantly made our way to the exit. We at Scene Las Vegas, recommend that if you’re in search of the perfect Tuesday night out, you don’t miss Industry Tuesdays at Pure nightclub inside Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.

Lounge Review: BLUE MARTINI

May 5, 2008

BLUE MARTINI

This Martini Bar is anything but ordinary- We not only enjoyed our time here but were amazed by this clever nightlife scene. The Blue Martini captures the feel of a sexy upscale martini bar, and sets a new standard in the ultra lounge arena. A guest list is available; however, you need to make it clear if you’re on it, as the entrance atop the stairs can become crowded and the doorman eager to shuffle people to the end of the line. That being said, we did find the rest of the staff to be very professional and accommodating. The dance floor was adequate with exceptional sound and lighting. We found the wait staff service wonderful andblue martini, las vegas, nightclub, nightclubs efficiently talented, quickly serving the sometimes three deep lines that surrounded their service bar. The drink prices were reasonable and the cocktails very well made. If you find the multi tiered interior a little too intrusive, you can enjoy your drinks and company outdoors on the Blue Martini’s very generous balcony/patio. With the full service bars both indoors and balcony side, extravagantly comfortable VIP tables, and a DJ inspired dance floor, the Blue Martini encompasses everything you could hope to find in the search for the perfect strip alternative. Not only are Wednesday nights enormously popular, but we found this Friday night to be quite the “hotspot” as well. SceneLasVegas gives this establishment a 4 ½ star rating and we are anxious for a return visit as we easily see The Blue Martini becoming one of our favorite strip alternatives.

Lounge Review: DOS CAMINOS at the PALAZZO

DOS CAMINOS AT THE PALAZZO

dos caminos, las vegas, nightclub, nightclubs, palazzo

We at SceneLasVegas were pleasantly impressed by this fairly new addition to Las Vegas nightlife. Dos Caminos ultra lounge and restaurant has many key aspects that will soon add this lounge to Scene’s TOP 10. The atmosphere, genuinely unique, allows for a DJ inspired dance floor to meet comfortable conversation in one of their private booths. As you walk through the entrance of Dos Caminos if the intoxicating, yet subtle lighting doesn’t immediately catch your eye then the modern elegance of their water feature to your left certainly will. The glow of this venue is pleasing and inviting to say the least. The talented DJ energizes the crowd with his mix of pop and hip hop. The multi tiered lounge is perfect for entertaining a party of any size. We found the Hosts and Wait staff eager to accommodate, making their way though clever layout to ensure the guests were enjoying themselves and their wants being met. With plenty of VIP tables, and European bottle service available, you could easily find yourself spending the entire night at Dos Caminos. It boasts an exceptional full service bar, where the gorgeous cocktail staff prepare your favorite drink. We found the crowd fun and easy to talk with. We have been impressed by The Palazzo Hotel and Casino and were excited to find Dos Caminos was no exception. Although this lounge is just now hitting the night life scene, it has done very well, and we at SceneLasVegas.com will be anticipating great things and this venues continuing success.

SceneLasVegas’ Friday to Sunday nightclub hopping circuit

May 4, 2008

SceneLasVegas’ Friday to Sunday nightclub hopping circuit

We’ve been flooded with requests for a “Weekend In Las Vegas” club guide; and of coarse we were more than happy to put one together for you. We understand that other than locals, most people want a quick weekend snapshot of the night clubs and Lounges to visit and when to visit them. So we’ve compiled our favorites for Friday through Sunday night; we’ll even throw in a Monday just in case you’re having so much fun that the $200 to change your flight seems insignificant.

So you come in Friday night, run and check into your room, throw your bags on your bed and your ready to roll out in hopes of finding that first night hook-up. We’ve got two clubs in mind: Tryst at Wynn and Moon at The Palms. With Tryst you can first stop of at one of their lounges for pre-club mingle. We’ve found lots of ladies at the Wynn on Friday night, a lot of locals too, which makes for a better all around atmosphere. At Tryst you can enjoy and indoor waterfall, plenty of room to move about in search of that perfect group of three girls to match up with your group of three guys. We find the club goers and staff alike, enjoyable to be around; definitely give this venue a chance. Moon at The Palms is also one of our top choices for Friday, if you happen to be closer to that side of the Strip. On Friday, most people are in such a hurry to get out and party they don’t venture too far from their hotel, and we like crowd at The Palms Hotel and Casino. Besides, who doesn’t want to stop off at The Playboy Club first! If you’ve got the time hit ‘em both up- The Playboy Club is definitely worth checking out, you might just end up dedicating the whole night here. If not, head straight up to the Moon nightclub to enjoy a truly spectacular view, not to mention a pleasant ratio of girls to guys.

Saturday, honestly most nightclubs are going to be packed, so be prepared to handle a lengthy wait; especially if you wait till 11pm to start getting ready. However, Studio 54 at MGM, for some reason is a little easier to get into and we are confident you’ll be quite pleased with this venues girl/guy ratio. A lot of outta town girls and guys are found here on Saturday night. Not only is the line fairly easy to deal with, but there is plenty of room once inside this clubs’ two story interior. Its high-energy environment will captivate you, if it doesn’t, I’m sure the many talented Go-Go dancers will; we think you’ll definitely enjoy your time here.

For Sunday your choice is easy, Body English at The Hard Rock. This large and elegant venue has everything you’d want to close out your weekend. Lots of beautiful girls, and for you ladies, our female reviewers say if it’s dancing and cute guys you’re after, then there’s no place you’d rather be. On Sunday, Body English does well by taking care of all the locals and military out there, with reduced entry cover.

Like we said, if you happen to extend that flight out a couple more days, then your destination for Monday should be Prive’ at Planet Hollywood. Although you’ll find a very selective door at this nightclub, if you get there early enough you should be able to get in without too long of a wait. Grab a few girls that you see on there way to the club and ask them if you can all go in together; that usually helps reduce the wait time at venues like these. Who knows, you might strike up a good conversation while in line, where they might actually be able to hear all those pick-up lines you’ve been working on. Girls, you’ll find plenty to dance to, in either of their two DJ inspired rooms; one playing house, the other with pop and hip hop. With the party lasting well past 3am, this spot should make for an exciting conclusion to your Vegas weekend. Have a great night out!

Club Review: TAO at THE VENETIAN

May 1, 2008

TAO at THE VENETIAN

Tao , venetian , las vegasEvery time we visit TAO, we are simply amazed by the sheer number of club goers it attracts. Granted, this venue is well marketed and intricate in design, but we saw nothing that would justify an average wait of around 2 hours for general admission and close to an hour for the VIP guest list. After verifying a one girl to one guy ratio (which Tao usually mandates for entry), the Scene crew entered this extremely busy “hotspot.” We were immediately disappointed by the entry point which had the feel of a “backdoor fire escape.” We found the doormen and security slightly rude, as a matter of fact, the only pleasant people we found on staff were a few ladies from the cocktail crew who were kind enough to pause and smile for a photo.

Upon entering, you are given two directions to choose from- either proceeding to the main room where you’ll find a large dance floor encompassed by multi-tiered VIP; first passing a smaller dance floor and full service bar to your right. Or, if you continue up the stairs to the third floor, you’ll find TAO BEACH. We strongly suggest that if you choose to subject yourself to this nightclub, you don’t stop until you reach the refreshing outdoors atop the indoor club. At least outdoors at TAO BEACH, the cool breeze and less intrusive atmosphere help drown out the fact that you just got done standing in line for two hours, shuffled through a stairwell, and shelled out $13 plus tip for a fairly weak drink. TAO BEACH just recently opened for the year and is a welcome addition to the TAO nightlife scene. It’s equipped with a DJ spinning poolside, lavish and comfortable cabanas, and a full service bar. You can relax under beautifully manicured palms and reserve bottle service here as well. We enjoyed our time at TAO BEACH, but dreaded the confusing maze of thousands of seemingly unsatisfied club goers we were sure to encounter on our way out. As we ventured to the exit we thought it would be humorous to time ourselves. We were familiar with the layout, and we wanted to see how long it would take to exit…Approximately 27 minutes!

tao , venetian , las vegas , night clubTAO, like the Venetian, is an aesthetically pleasing establishment, packed full of grand artwork and artifacts, and showcases some very talented DJs and gorgeous dancers. However, we at Scene Las Vegas, have a few suggestions. Concentrate on the guests a little more. We understand your frustration having worked in the industry, but a little restraint and professionalism do go a long way. We witnessed someone being made fun of by security personnel in the stairwell for showing affection to what appeared to be his significant other. If you’re that bored, why don’t you pick up some of the empty cups and trash that litter the atmosphere you work in- much more productive than trying to humiliate a guest. Reduce the drink prices slightly, or simply make them better (as we found the mixed drinks poorly made). And third, do away with a few VIP tables that crowd where the masses are trying to walk. Finally we made it to the exit, more excited about picking our car up from Valet than dropping it off. This is the main reason we at Scene Las Vegas do what we do. With all the great night life Vegas has to offer, we hate to see you waste your time out at a club that just because of the hype you feel you “have” to see. TAO nightclub certainly has the potential to be, in our opinion a 5 star establishment, however, for your Saturday night we recommend one of the many alternatives.

Thanks for reading and if there is anything you would like to see in future reviews please let us know. And, as always, we hope you enjoy your night out!
